Hey all,

I am playing around with the ai_profiles table and experimenting with Glide Strafe/Circle Strafe attacking.  I noticed something odd.  I set one of the profiles to a Glide Strafe of 50 and let loose some fighters on an Orion.  My intrepid fighter pilots did indeed attempt to glide strafe, but after initiating glide they ended up shooting into empty space slightly alongside the Orion for most of their attack run.  I'd say only about 25% of the time during their strafes were they actually aiming properly at the ship.  Has anyone else encountered this behavior, and any ideas on how to fix it?

I've noticed something similar happening with dogfighting fighters, though I can't tell whether it was caused while strafing or not.  I was thinking that very high velocities may have caused the issue.

You may be onto something there.  I do have the max speed on these fighters up to around 250.   Also, I haven't tried playing around with the newer glide speed parameters in ships.tbl, I'm going to take a crack at that and update this post with the results.
