Very nice vid!

The space sim genre is kinda sorta still alive. There's a space sim called Faster Than Light  that's been released on Steam which more or less has you as the captain of some starship, or... something.

Lucasarts was listing jobs, asking for people with flight sim experience I believed. Few months ago they trademarked "Star Wars: First Assault" and bought a domain for it. So perhaps a new flight sim. Name reminds me of Rebel Assault.
Currently playing: real life.

It could very well be a continuation of the Rebel Assault series, or hopefully the X-Wing/TIE series. But the way LucasArts is going with their games it's probably going to be some dumb-ass gimmick game.

I wept. Mysterious forces beyond my ken had reached into my beautiful mission and energized its pilots with inhuman bomb-firing abilities. I could only imagine the GTVA warriors giving a mighty KIAAIIIIIII shout as they worked their triggers, their biceps bulging with sinew after years of Ivan Drago-esque steroid therapy and weight training. - General Battuta

Hey, it's gonna be a KINECT game!

Not "drive" your X-Wing, BE your X-WING!

Not "The force may be with you", "YOU BE THE FORCE!!"

Lucasarts actually wanted to make games themselves again, instead of letting others make them. So I'm guessing they're going back to their roots.

Star Wars 1313 looks good also.

They also hired for a Star Wars game with Open World RPG setting, that's the same what Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind, Daggerfall etc is. A Star Wars game that plays like Skyrim? Bring it on.

Another game genre they hired for was a 1st person shooter, so maybe a new Dark Forces or Battle Front successor, as 1313 is the adventure genre they hired for so this must be something different.

Best combat game I found was actually a mod on Battlefield 2142 called First Strike, its pretty well polished up and nothing beats the death star run, spawning near the hangar bays or turrets and blasting those pathetic rebels too atoms. Personally wish Thrawn wouldve been in the movies, that guy shouldve made it alot further than what he did. but Thrawn is another topic.
