I think Picard fixed that one once.

But lets face it they cant even be consistent with warp speeds with several scale reinventions and even then it getting thrown out in favour of story telling so time travel has no hope.

Re: KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
As a non-Trekkie, is there a reason why J.J. Abrams's Star Trek might be a bad movie? I don't have an in-depth knowledge of the franchise to feel that the writers/directors/producer destroyed my childhood by retconning anything. My only gripe was the lensflares, but I thought it was a good movie otherwise. Thoughts?

Re: KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Trek was originally meant to be a deep exploration of 'us', TOS sort of did that but TNG was afforded the ability to do this in a 'most true fashion', asking questions about humanity blah blah.
DS9 kinda did this with bashier and garack, and a little with sisko and kiera / odo but not on the same scale.
Voyager sucked at it.
The movies got steadily worse at it (Nemesis was an attempt to meld action and this together and failed spectacularly)
The reboots are nothing like it.
I guess I  enjoy'em anyway though.

Taken on its own merits I think it's a bit of a dodgy movie, full of clumsy exposition and unnecessary happenstance. But it does have an incredible opening scene.

Re: KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
reboot trek seems like an attempt to make star trek into star wars. they threw out all the cerebral geekly stuff over the years. voyager had this annoying knack of taking technobabble to an extreme and trying to pass that off as intellectual wankery. enterprise tried to go back, but the damage was done by then. the reboot was moar explosions, less thinking. i cant really say it was a bad thing, having geeked out on trek all throught my childhood and teen years it was kinda getting old anyway. im curious to see a trek with a bsg kinda feel would be like, and i get the feeling thats what the next one will kinda be.

Universe will never be known as a Stargate series
That is all

I'm just going to throw this out there. Reboot Trek is also trying to pull in a new audience. Keep that in mind

SGU had a godawfully horrible first season and still managed to be the best Stargate series.

Re: KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
i kinda liked sgu. and series can initially suck and then become awesome, as far as that goes watch the first season of sttng. horrible, ****ing horrible. the first few seasons of deep space nine weren't all that great ether, but it started kicking ass after that.

Re: KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
In a similar way, Enterprise's fourth and final season was actually really really good, discounting the godawful finale.
