Local SSM missiles leaving strange trails

I'm playing around getting local SSM to work and I've noticed the missiles leave a trail between there warp out point and there entrance points. Is this a known to happen with other people or is it just me?

It's not just you. Not entirely sure whether this is a bug or actually awesome.

Yeah, we've got this too. It's kinda cool looking but also kind weird.
