No, it won't. X-Wing engine is much more limited than FS engine. For one, there's no such thing as an SCP for it and it doesn't really allow custom weapons. I looked into it, but it didn't work.
I'd like to see the disabled/destroyed instances implemented differently.
Getting a turret disabled would make it's subobject disappear as if destroyed, even if it was only attacked with disabling weapons.
I know it's a tricky thing to change because that will probably break retail compatibility, but as it stands now I find this behaviour more and more difficult to assimilate.
Actually, that's a good idea for a new subsystem. For example, TurretGen##. It'd be a subsystem that, when disabled, would also disable it's corresponding turret. It could be placed on the turret itself, or somewhere else. I'll add that to the list, along with a few more ideas for turrets which came into my mind.
