im all for lftr, if only so we have reactors to burn up waste products from legacy reactors. fusion or not we should at least build a few. but i think we will have fusion working before we can build a large number of such powerplants. also im somewhat wary of using the iter/demo timeline as the definitive timeline for fusion reactors. there are some really smart people who say we could have them in 10 years and a fraction of the cost of iter. that said demo will probibly work. its just tokamaks are a ***** to engineer construct, especially at the scale needed for breakeven.
