Hey guys, every time I click into the ready room the game crashes after the load bar is complete, SCP worked fine on my previous Windows Vista computer and on my friend's Windows 8, I'm aware that this is a bug but how do I fix it?

Another issue was when my friend and I tried out multiplayer, the game wouldn't let us commit and it says "please wait until all clients have finished joining" when we just want the two of us and AI playing. I'm aware that these are probably very stupid issues that could be easily solved, but I'm no SCP expert, thanks in advance!

You have an Intel video card, try adding -no_glsl to the command line options in the launcher.  If you're using wxLauncher, it's found on the Advanced Settings Tab, Troubleshoot, Disable GLSL (shader) support. You should also make sure your video card drivers are up to date.

I have tried doing that and it crashed again, so I assume it's the outdated video card? Here's the second log.

Retail with 3.7.0 should definitely run, even on intelgrateds.

Please make sure your drivers are up to date.

In addition to what Matth said, I've just compared all your VP checksums to the ones I have.  Only root_fs2.vp matches, all the rest are different.  I think you need to re-install Freespace2 (to c:\games\freespace2), apply the 1.20 patch and see if that fixes it.

Only need to apply the 1.20 patch with the original release of the game I think, GOG and SOTY Edition were already patched.
