No-one ever listens to Zathras. Quite mad, they say. It is good that Zathras does not mind. He's even grown to like it. Oh yes. -Zathras

the real wtf is that your company keeps user passwords in plaintext
The good Christian should beware of mathematicians, and all those who make empty prophecies. The danger already exists that the mathematicians have made a covenant with the devil to darken the spirit and to confine man in the bonds of Hell.

I'm using the same password or a small variation for Facebook and most forums I frequent, but for stuff that matters, I use multi-word passphrases. So the only thing a hacker could steal from me using an FB password would be FS and KSP mod WiPs that are linked to in my PM boxes. :) And FS ones are mostly outdated, to boot.

It really surprises me that people really do have passwords like that. Like really, why not use password!

From a local news, a group of hackers manage to hijack a company transaction, around 2 million dollars value. How did they do it? Because the company is stupid enough to use the company's name as the email password. The rest went on from there. The hackers delete the emails from the other company and send them a reply giving them a bank account that is actually theirs, and thus redirecting the transaction.

that doesn't work, too many people use that and then hackers know you use that because many people use that.

i am smarter than that because i use my own name as the password if you think about it its the best because very few people use my own name because very few people have my name and its the best except for that one time when my email and bank account was hacked and now i am in the ****ters those guys must have been geniuses how the hell did they figure it out.

No no no, you've all got it wrong: just make your password the same as the user name, but backwards!
