Is the campaign "Unholy Alliance" worth trying out?  I read it's one where you as a human fight alongside Shivans against other Shivans.

I do not think so.

Sure it is very long, but it is also extremely buggy, incomplete and also the story is very confusing and some missions have a flair of Second Great War Part II.
