Image of Solar System formation
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-29932609

The Alma Radio Telescope has created a very nice image of a young Solar System forming. What actually surprises me at first glance is how similar it looks to how I expected one to look, you can see 7 or eight distinct 'rings' that will, in all likelihood, form the starting points of the final stable system (probably after several billion years of chaos).

It's nice to see that the basic theories on planetary formation do, at least, seem to be holding form.

Most epic result of radio interferometry yet!  I can't wait for similar observations on the Sagittarius A* event horizon. :)
