So, I downloaded a ship and I like the shape of it, but the textures are blurry and I wanted to make a higher resolution texture for it, maybe add some things of my own.

What I wanted to ask is if there is anyway for me to produce an image that has the UVmap outlines but no texture, so I can import it to photoshop or GIMP and add my textures there.

I have both Blender and Truespace lying around, but I have only limited experience with them.

My only other option is to manually outline the edges on the original texture, to which I said "**** that".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have a couple of options that I can think of.

1) scale up the texture image and paint over them, the UV should scale with the texture

2) Blender has an option in the UV editor to "Export UV Layout" which will export the uv map to png
