It looks like an error that should only pop up in a debug build. Are you trying to play using a debug build?

I could be wrong about this.

According to what my last build I was using, I was using the 3.7.2 SSE version.  Using the 0.94 wx launcher. Also, I checked with Speccy and my CPU is capable of using SSE builds (I5 4670K)

I recommend using the "standard" build instead. It uses SSE2, which (according to this page) is supported by your CPU.

It looks like you're missing the 3.6.12 MediaVPs, which are probably required to play BtA. You can get them from either the installer or this thread. (You could also try changing BtA's mod.ini so that its secondarylist line points to MediaVPs_2014 rather than mediavps_3612, but that can cause problems if the mod requires assets that aren't in the 2014 MediaVPs.)

I have used the 3.7.2 build and downloaded the mediavps 3.12, I'm still not able to get it to work. Here's the latest code from the thing.

That log isn't showing anything in E:\GOG Games\Freespace 2\mediavps_3612\

Are you sure the mediavps_3612 are installed there?

Thanks to realizing how effective Snipping tool is, here's a couple of flles to show media 3.12 vps is there and the files included if there's any errors to be found in the installation.

You've got mv_root.3612, but no plain old mv_root. Can you download that manually and stick it in there?

You're also missing MV_Effects.vp and MV_Effects.3612.vp, which MV_Advanced.vp and various mods require.
