Ah that good 'ol shivan campaign i was doing awhile back... it woulda been done if my pleas for a non-lazy mission creator were answered... but then all hell broke loose and my hard drive died.

If one of my staff still has the files there's ships and a few loadout anis in the HT staff-distributed files... If Freedom2Surf would have kept being free I would probably give em to you myself..but as it is all my backups and everything are wiped out.

While we're on the subject, can anyone make me a shield icon for the SB Vindhyachal? For those of you who don't know, The Vindhyachal is a user-made mod (created by Robin Varley) of a new Shivan bomber that is about three times as powerful as the Seraphim bomber. (It even has a fighter-sized beam cannon!) This baby would be ideal for a Shivan campaign (and it looks real nice, too!).

I can provide the zipfile containing the pof file and table data, etc. via e-mail. I think I got this mod from the FS2 Sector website, but since it's down and won't be up for  at least a few more weeks, I'll give this zipfile to anyone willing to make a shield icon for it. If this baby is needed for a Shivan campaign, then you'll have to make a selection icon for it as well (which i would also like a copy of).

For those who follow my 2D art exploits, this is one of the last shield animations I did using gamma adjustments to normalise the brightness of the ship image.  My more recent ones are normalised using brightness, contrast and intensity adjustments, which give a crisper final result.  Just in case anyone cares about the art of interface creation... :wink:

Well, I'l be starting my graduate studies in theology shortly, Petrarch, so I think it is a pretty safe bet your curse will not avail much.

Don't be so sure about that, Sesq. After all, those theology studies didn't help those child molesters in the Catholic priesthood to keep their hands of the altar boys.

And I'm sure that ol' Lucifer has reserved a special place in Hell for Cardinal Bernard Law for his work in covering up and protecting the molesters in his archdiocese.

Actually, all other catholics other than those ba$tards you were molesting are really pissed off at those who did. The Catholic Church is extremely upset about all this. And thw whole Catholic church isn't to blame.

Yeah, this is true. I won't blame the laity (they have every right to be pissed). And there are a lot of priests who do nothing but good. I won't blame them either.

But the molestors and the bishops and archbisops who covered up the scandals deserve all the blame they're getting. I have no sympathy for them.

Me either, but some people are blaming the whole Catholic church. Nobody here that I know of, but deffinately some people. I'm Catholic, and I'm extremely pissed. I'm also a good Catholic, and I believe that they can be forgiven if they really are sorry. But I don't think they are, and the human race won't forgive them.

In the Catholic religion, God will forgive everything except suicide. if you go to confession, and are truly sorry. He won't forgive suicide, because you can't apologize for that. If these priests and other people are truly sorry, God may forgive them, but most of the Catholic religion, and the world won't.

And please let this thread not turn into a debate about religious beliefs. Feel free to speak your mind, let's just not fight.

That's probably my fault. Sesq made a comment about theology studies and I couldn't resist making a wisecrack about the Catholic Church because of my hangups about it. If this thread has deviated OT, it's my fault and I'll accept responsibility for it.

But to get this topic back on track, I wanna ask: has anyone made any good Shivan fighter mods? I hear the Inferno website is supposed to have a new Shivan stealth mod. There's something I would like to see for public consumption!

Well, I couldn't help but become interested with a "Shivan" campaign. I mean, the whole story could be completely twisted. What if the Shivans were actually running? What if they had destroyed the Ancients as a means of self-defense? What if the Shivans wanted to destroy the humans because they felt that the humans were posing a threat to their survival. Ahh yes, the great twists and turns of a story. hehehe As for a Shivan Installation, I think I'd like to make one. I recall seeing a sketch somewhere that involved a sort of installation with tons of tubes in it. I assumed it was Shivan. I think it was somewhere in the credits for FS2 or in one of the concept drawings. Either way, it was never made, and I'd like to make one myself. I already have tons of ideas on making this thing. Decisions, decisions...

There is a mod of a Shivan installation called the SI Arachnas. Aqueous, I can give you a copy of this mod if you really need a Shivan installation. This thing is huge, has the same hitpoints as a Sathanas and is armed with, among other things, four LRed beams to protect it from enemy capships. It even has a fighterbay! (Sadly, though, whoever made this mod neglected to put dockpoints on it, though...)

Well, I'm not actually looking for a Shivan installation. Thanks for the offer, but the one you want to send the installation to is Hades, he's the one who started this post afterall. But, having a Shivan installation on my hard drive would'nt hurt (I wouldn't think ) So send away. [email protected] And yes, I guess that the installation I was talking about was actually a Vasudan one, but it was never actually made, so it wouldn't hurt to put a Shivan label on it, right?

I don't much need Shivan stuff as much as you guys want it though. I stated this thread before I started working on the Combat Federation(Needs a better name, their is no Combat Federation in the MOD), And it is doing pretty good.
