The Freespace series was one of my favorite games and provided me many hours of enjoyment.  I can't tell you how blown away I am to find out that there's this huge community that has kept this game very current!  I'm so excited to get back into this game again, especially after my wife just bought me an X52 Pro.  No questions, I think I've got everything installed and working properly.  My plans are to play through the official Volition releases in chronological order and then start at the top and work my way down the big campaign list that I found here.  Thank you to everyone involved for keeping this game alive, I'm gonna go play now!

Freespace is one of the best games to rediscover after many years. I think the first time I rediscovered it, widescreen support was a new thing, and man what a difference THAT made!

I then rediscovered it a few months ago, and this time I haven't drifted away from it again, probably because of all the excellent campaigns. And I've started one of my own, even. Pretty great that a game like this is going strong nearly two decades later.

Yeah, I'm an ultrawide user myself.  Samsung curved 34", running the game at 3440x1440.  I did have to research a fix to make the HUD bigger but that was a pretty easy fix.
