first test run of makin waves =) final version will have rain and some spray being blow off the waves if i can manange it need to find a really nice hdri image of a stormy sky anyone got one???

for some reason all the hdri libarys i check are dead links =(

anyway i'm damned proud of this even if its nothing exciting so here

i have to admit thought iw as surprised ith this first time off the surfacing was perfect  while i had trid to think about the colours and stuff and the faked subsurface scattering (wave troughs darker than the peaks due to more light passing through) somehow i never imaged first time i would get it soo good

next one will have particles being generated from the wave peaks and being blown with the wind

the rains well in my mind it looks like rain is hitting the surafce thatere - that is supposed to be small breakers though but they are moving to fast so they look like splashs not sure if i'll keep that and add a slower version to simulate the breakers or what -  depends really if the next incarnation has rain =)

sadly no spray is forth coming =( my puter had a heart attack hen i asedit to make sucha large surface sprout thousands and thousands of partciles =( but i doing a longer aniamtion so long i dounbt you will be able to watch nit =( that said its cool the camera flying over teh surface of the water for a while at high speed then angles up gains atltidude then turns and dives into the ocean its 500 frames long with motion blur to add some more coolness =) and it certainyl looks cool in teh stills then i'm going to do another aniamtion as to add on the end of this one from underwater =) should be cool when i finished =)
