I want to give my Colonial Battlestars authentic name plates (Galactica, Pegasus, etc...). Each Battlestar has two name plates. One on the outer side of each hanger. Naturally the name plates have to run in different directions for each side of the ship. Otherwise the name plate one side would read backwards .

Can I achieve this using Freespace 2 insignia? Is it achievable (through PCS I guess) without resorting to hex editting? I could always create a different .pof for each Battlestar of course, but it's not as elegant a solution as having one model with a changable name.

cool site, i knew about its existence but i've never seen their mod pages...
uhm... there aren't a lot of models but what is there seems very well done...
lets see if i can get something for the sw mod:)

about the insigna question (never gave a look at that) isn't possible to add more than one insigna?

I don't think so, unfortunately..... insignia only works for fighters or bombers i think, and you can only assign one squad logo per mission, unortunately.... with sourcecode, you could probably do something neat, but not possible with the release code AFAIK.

Insignia on all ships (by choice) is quite high up on my list for code in me TC. Not that that has any relavence at all here. SO why did I post? I have absolutly no idea.

Take out the no fred tag, then put it back once you've placed them I guess. Or you could type the name in manually - that might work.

I really want this to be a FRED type feature.

Under a modified ship editor, if the capital ship has a specified nameplate area then you may choose between and a texture map in the /data/maps directory (or accompanying VP file).
