As per Shrike's request.......here is your thread.

so how about it admin...what do you want to see from those of us who are up for hosting?  Throw us some feedback so that we may better do your bidding.

What would be nice would be a rundown of what you need to see from each of the candidates.  That way we can do it.  I am pretty sure that if you tell us what you want to see you will see it in a matter of hours.  go through each candidate if you want to, and let us know.

i'm not an admin, but from what i know (from what i had to do) you have to contact the admins and give a LINK to your current site you'd like to host so they can check the content, etc. and see if you're "worty" :)

lol

Simple. We need to know what your project is about. We need to be sure that you'll be commited to working on it. We need to see quality work being done. And we need to see your website.

Yes, that's right. Unfortunately, we cannot host a project that doesn't already have a website - it doesn't need to be published anywhere, you can zip it all (if it's pure HTML, of course) and send it to us for appreciation, if you don't have a host.

Projects must be related to the focus of HLP, being related to one of the supported games (currently the Freespace and I-War series), or about computer generated art. The website must be well built and easy to navigate through. There must be content - information about the project, news, status information, updates, etc.

And remember, we reserve the right of deciding which projects get hosted or not. Create a nice project, build a good website for it, and show your commitment, and you're almost certain to get hosting.
Probably away. Contact through email.

So then holding back on the website while waiting for hosting is a bad idea....correct?

ok, then we will start our massive dump of material now.

We have two sites, the official site is in my signature.

the other one is my site, it's where riven gets the material for the main site.

Some things you won't be able to access:

The trailer (which is 90% complete)  Staff downloads.  Include all tables redone.  The custom soundtrack.  Any of our Special Projects. These are what will add a new flavor to Mission designing, and eventually Campaign design.  The material presented is only for Episode 1, "The Calm Before"  Episode 2, "The Gathering Winds" will operate with many of the same ships, Episode 3, "Comes the Rain" will again operate with the most of the same ships.  Episode 4, will be much the same, but will also finally lay to rest the origins of mankind.  Episode 5, "Lightning Strikes" will bring a new foe home to you.
and Episode 6, "Eye of the Storm" will have a culmination of events from all of the other Episodes.  All in all, it happens over the course of 200 years, beginning in the year 2764.  Next week, we start the fredding effort on the demo.  We expect demo release by Halloween.  Hopefully the release of The Calm Before will be in May.

Between two of the Episodes we plan to release a mini mod, Mercenaries.  And another....Bounty Hunter between two of the other Episodes.  The main site will have Episodes listed, and the sites you are viewing are only for Episode 1.

I hope this helps.

If you want to view what we have on the trailer so far, let me know, i will upload it. To our materials site, and you can get it there.  Forgive me if i don't give out our login and password on the main site.  Or the password protection for the staff only pages on the materials site.  You understand...security, so that we can have some surprises.

How about PROGRESS? I think the SW mod has shown a lot of progress so far, and as it's 90% model building it's not like a campaign that's going to rot.

i agree with that.  Progress.  I am currently working on the last missions for casualties of war.  Then outside of having a few voice overs to do, i will be able to fully devote myself to the CF.  Let's not let this thread get lost in the shuffle, admin really needs to see it, and through it they can give us feedback.

So can you guys tell us each, what you need to see from each individual mod?  Or is it pretty much all across the board?

and in case the admins have missed it, the trailer is available for download...in the download section of the website for the Combat federation, found in my signature.

There's an idea. Give all the beggars hosted sites, see what they come up with in a month, and boot them if they die.

gah, I would have had my campaign almost finished by now if my computer had not been broken for the last month... :p (should be able to start again soon, though)

Excuses, excuses... :p

Now, if you didn't notice, we require commitment - that meaning, the will to work on the project and show constant progress. And that is for all hosted sites.
