Okey dokey, today saw the installation of some lovely new hardware - the 40gb 7200 hd, the cordless optical mouse, and the earpiece headset microphone doo-dad.

Now, me question is, how do I connetc me mic - the damn thing came with NO instructions. Now, on the complicated end it has a pink plug and a green plug. The pink one goes in the pink hole on me sound card, but the green one is causing me problems - presumably I need to unplug me PC speakers or get some sort of spliter dude?

Also, can I set it so music and such only comes out o' me speakers and voice only comes through the headset? I've got Roger Wilco, but I'm a beginner with all this stuff, so.

Hope this keeps you lot busy for a while.

There should be a microphone port on your sound card, and only one is necessary for the mic.

As for the music/voice thing, I don't think you can do that in most cases; if it is MIDI music and thus rund through a different driver, you might be able to do it with some fancy sound hardware, but not otherwise.

My headset has been messed up for the last week or so but I just got a chance to mail it in today to the manufacturer; good thing I can get a free replacement since the thing was a good 70 bucks. (the audio was solid, though) It lasted much longer than any other headset I have used, working for well over a year without any problems.
