the guns wont fire on the fighter problem

I made a fighter (the Phoenix). Has everything - 3 lods, debris, and everything done in PCS. When I start the game it has two primaries clearly listed, but when I press Ctrl(fire), I can hear the fireing sound, but nothing comes out, and the energy doesn't drain. The same is with the missiles.
Has anyone any clue?

You did remember to put firing points in the POF, right?

It has fireing points! Positioned perfectly!
 I did that fighter 6 times in TS4 (made the pof 4 times, but the geometry was bad, so I started anew. It fired then):mad:

Make sure the firing points have normals of 1,0,0.

The PCS sets the points to 1.0.0. automaticly!

Weapons subsystem present?

Weapons listed in FRED2?

Weapons are player allowed?

Just guesses.... to be honest, I've nevr heard nor had this prob before.

Neither have I - if I've screwed something up (usually in the tables) FS2 throws me back to the desktop. It once took me an hour to find that the cause of the problem was the fact that I'd listed two default missile bank loadout weapons in the tbl, when the ship only had one set of missile banks! :D

Actually, I once had this problem, when I found myself accidentally piloting a GVG Anuket. Don't ask.

I had the same problem when I first installed a 'net mission to play.  I had to completely reload freespace before any weapons would fire on my ship

I re-installed the PCS and now it works o.k.
I even managed to convert my Vanguard(starbase) and Iowa(battleship) models. I've been editing them in PCS, but the turrets are all mixed up on Iowa (main multi-part turret 03 - i edit it and in modelview it's a small turret on the other side of the ship?). Wierd!

No need - I fixed the problem. Now I'm working on fighters/bombers/capships like crazy - got several of them allmost finished. I'll put them all for download as soon as I finish them!
