Petroleum gas= gasoline, which is petrol... it's all the same thing

Petrol is a very bad name for gasoline as petroleum is NOT the fluid that you fill your cars with. Petroleum is the black organic fluid mixture that is the result of millions of years of breakdown of living creatures. Also known as crude oil. Gasoline is a deritive of it.

Gas may not be such a misleading name though as gasoline doesn't burn in liquid state but instead burns when in gaseous vapor state.
