Which reminds me, that Office 11 (the new MS office) will only be compatible with WinXP. Not ONE other operating system besides that. Not even WinME.

Although I dont much care, I'm still using Office 97, and Win98SE.

BTW, anyone else think Office XP is crap?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't all MS Office programs specifically use file encoding that can't be read by previous versions?

Yes, but what is being said (I think) is that the PROGRAM it self will only run on XP, which is stupid MS bullS#!t.

nah, I've successfully opened word2000 documents in word97.

access, however, doesn't like anything that is the wrong version.

Microsoft took some heavy flak because Office 97 wasn't compatible with Office 95. They learned their lesson and AFAIK, it isn't like that anymore.
