This works in 98 and ME but I don't know about the others.

1: go to System Properties->Device Manager
2: select appropriate drive
3: go to Properties->Settings
4: change both Start Drive Letter and End Drive Letter to whatever you want it to be
5: restart computer

nevermind, I got it, its a little different in XP

heres how to do it for future reference:

Computer Management Console:
Storage Primary Tree>
Disk Management
then select the drive, right click, and select change letter

* you need to have a medium for the drive to show up on removable media such as CD-Roms, DVD-Roms, burners, floppies, etc

Heres how NOT to do it:

Use partition Magic... peice of ****

Look in windows\system32 for a little proggie called Diskmngr... seems to be the easiest way of performing such tasks that I've encountered to date...

And so far, Partiton Magic has been A-1 Supar for me... it's done what I want it to, without any fuss :)

Yes, Administrative Tools --> Computer Management --> Disk Management is the right way to change drive letters. It's easy as well.
