I was on ebay lately and thought if anyone here in the fs2 community might have a copy of freespace2 sci-fi sim of the year edition. If you do pls pm me because I would like to ask a few qs?? about the edition....

Though it's gold edition, but it's just European version of sci-fi sim of the year edition. It's the same.

didn't the space-sim ed just have the 1.20 patch in it?

You need the patch if you download it off underdogs, friend of mine had a ***** of a time setting it up.

Didn't know ypou could patch a ripped version of a game. They usually use a no-CD crack wich alters the main .exe filesize. And if thats altered the patch cannot be applied.

Whatever - you can get a friend to copy it for you, legally. I'm sure someone will post the explanation as to why it's legal; I just don't have the time right this moment.

Now that you mention it, I don't think we did patch it. Maybe, maybe not. I'll have to check again.

The HOTU version is unpatched. It's really a ****worthy crack, I shoulda looked closer at it before compressing it and sending it up.

Once again, I'll note that if anyone cares to be maybe a little helpful, I can get the movies compressed, the SCP version up, and everything good there. Then, well, we see newbies again.

Upload a fresh exe file, patch it with the frsh exe, supply a no-CD crack for the later version and voila, you have an updated version of the game.
