I am new at this, but where do i find the .tbl files? help will be appreciated.

  Welcome to the HLPBB

They are in the Root_vp but to open a VP file you need a VP extractor you can get it here whit it you can read and extract the files to any dir you like. you can open TBL files in word or notepad and edit them..more questions ask here hope it helps

Okay i went to the site and downloaded VPPVIEW32 (or something like that) so i would be able to open the .VP file, the i downloaded TBLVIEW32 to be able to look at the .TBL files, but when i open a .TBL file all i get is giberish. did I do something wrong?

TBLView only views the files - what you want is simply wordpad. When you extract the TBL from the VP file, tell VPView to decode the file, and you'll be able to open it up in any text editor you choose.
