Stealth has been banned for ever yes? But his site is still existant at HLP. Isn't this a blatant case of double standards?

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

I thought that's what a banning tended to be. Harrumph.

So you are going to let him back, eventually?

don't forget, Petrach, that the reason i got banned was for helping you find a program... so don't get sarcastic here, or it'll be the last time you ever get helped by me again.

Shut up, all three of yas. He was tradin' in warez (or at least linking to it, I didn't follow the original thing), he got caught, he got banned. Fair enough, he knew the risks, it's something you deal with if you're gonna dabble in that end of things. Hell, I never complained. But harping on it's just uncalled for, as is making a perma-ban over a relatively small indiscretion. He's learned his lesson, leave him be. And if he hasn't learned his lesson, he'll get busted again and banned for good- which is, once again, fair play, seeing as he'd have to be the net equivalent of too stupid to live. Besides which, it's not like either of you are model citizens.

You guys are like the ****ing townspeople from The Scarlet Letter.

in this thread:

what i told him to do, was how to find (crack) the full version of a program.  i simply told him to go to ...
http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,14245.0.html

hehehehehe
you thought i was going to fall for that again, didn't you ;)

well, i was banned for a week for giving detailed instructions on how to find a crack, serial, hack, call it whatever you want:  WAREZ.

Learn from my experience: don't promote/talk about warez on HLP

Calm down dude, I only just got here. Just looked to me from "stealther's" first post like he was partly(?) blaming Petrarch...

Ahhh Stryke, always the precocious (sp!?) little farker.  is that the only way you can get noticed?

Petrach:  after you PM me for the crack after i've gotten banned, now you want my site closed down?

no crack for you boy.  no warez discussed in HLP by me from now on.  hold me to my word

Let Stealth's temporary ban-ishment have been a lesson not only to him, but to you all. But now he's back, the past is past, get on with life.

And since this thread is pointless...
