Question Regarding Models in FS
On a certain model I have created, it is occasionally possible to see the sun through it in a certain spot. This spot includes a few polygons, so it is more of an area. I cannot fly through any part of the model. There are no other trouble spots. The model has been made from one solid piece, I did not use Boolean operations. As of right now, there is only one object, the hull itself. It was made and textured in trueSpace 5.1

This only takes place while in a mission. I have no trouble with FRED2 or with FS2View.

Is this possible because of textures? There are only 7 different ones on the model, many were applied face by face.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

Question Regarding Models in FS
I don't use Truespace, but 3ds Max.  However, I'm sure TS would have a function like the one in Max that welds all vertices with x distance of each other together.  Try doing that to remove any duplicate verts and see if that helps.

switch between pcs/cob2fs2 to see if the prob disappear, i remember maybe karajoma solving a similar problem this way, btw if it is solid it is only a minor prob if you want my opinion

ts weld any selected vertex at any distance until they are connected by edges.
If you select for example two groups of vertices and there is no connection btween those groups you will have 2 points after welding.
This mean, as far as i know, that you can't simply select all the vertices of a model and press weld to remove the double vertices.
BTW I think that this function is implemented both by lithunwrap and 3dexploration, but i don't like to do modelling partially on a prog and partially on another one, and in this case you can avoid this problem with just some wise modelling strategy.

Yeah but my ship was fly through (and it was an older version of PCS. I have no problems converting the same ship using the new one).

There does appear to be certain angles from which you can see the sun through even official [V] models. Is the see-through part near one of the edges of the ship (i.e move a few metres up or down and the ship wouldn't be infront of the sun anyway?)

Question Regarding Models in FS
I have a qusetion....

I make a box, scale it's top so it looks like a pyramid with it's top off. Texture it with the thruster ani (using BOX uv maping).
But the thruster flames "blow" in the wrong direction ....

Can someone tell me if I just make a box ant texture it like that, in which direction will the flames blow.... so I can just easily rotatre the mapping, instead ofd trying several combinations....:doubt:
