ideas from reading. input anyone?
eeee
working on some espresso, I was just reading "In Death Ground", a killer sci-fi piece by david weber and steve white.

among other things I gathered from and am working on, what does one think of com lasers???
you can do a com laser in the SCP with SEXPS and a modified com laser entry, of course
sure, why worry about scripting some complicated thing like shooting a laser at another ship for specific messages, but think of it, it would ensure security, no?  it would only go from point A to point B, with no chance of interception....
I just think it would be a nice touch...

and SSM missiles and their tables, I'm still not completely sure (read: I'm lazy) how they work, can you specify where they'll come out of subspace in XYZ form???
the SBMHAWKs (or Subspace Bombardment Missile, Homing All the Way Killer pod) were missiles that make subspace transit by themselves and launch salvoes of missiles at enemy ships on the other side.  (like the piranha, only bigger and more complex)
I was thinking with an invisible targetting laser and invisible (or small four poly tetrahedron model, painted black) ship, one could pull this effect off rather nicely.  any suggestions??

something else, I've forgotten already, i'm gonna go find out how I can get the sludge out of the bottom of my cup.

Comm lasers are in use today. They aren't visible though.

As for getting ideas from reading? Constantly. All my best ideas are sythesized from books, movies, and Venom/Ryx/LtNarol/CodeDogNG (and some from Sandwich. SHHH!).
