I'll hazard a guess that you've never used Z, then?  (Set algebra based specification language)  Bout as logical as a pig in an opera dancing the fandango.

Exactly, perhaps that's why I've never really liked maths, dealing with absolutes makes no sense to me.

Though people seem to constantly say math is "absolute" or "concrete" I tend to disagree. It's been shown that math actually isn't consistent or complete (see godel's inconsistency theorem), it too cannot pass certain barriers (or at least, we don't know how).

Also,  it should be mentioned that people definitely do not agree over the absoluteness of many parts of math. Take for example the revolution of non-euclidean geometry, and even now people are debating on the fundamentals of mathematics (set theory and the like).

It's more of a constantly evolving form of art in my mind, in an abstract sort of way (though that may go against the conservative definition of "art").

BTW: what do you mean by absolute? If you mean dealing with "this or that" situations then have you looked at fuzzy logic? (stuff in computer math) That doesn't really deal with absoluteness.
Science alone of all the subjects contains within itself the lesson of the danger of belief in the infallibility of the greatest teachers in the preceding generation . . .Learn from science that you must doubt the experts. As a matter of fact, I can also define science another way: Science is the belief in the ignorance of experts. - Richard Feynman

I usually actively look for inspiration in books and movies - I like taking a bunch of movies that are universally thought of as good movies, dissecting them, and figuring out what they have in common or what made them so cool. :)

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Have Turnsky make a cartoon out of it:

UT and Venom are talking over a table or sitting on a sofa. Sandwich is lounging in an easy chair with one leg tossed over the arm, can of coca-cola in hand, watching TV.

FRAME 1: UT: "What inspires you, Venom?"
FRAME 2: Venom: "Everything inspires me."
FRAME 3: *BELCH* ballon coming from Sandwich
FRAME 4: Venom: "Well, almost everything..."
