Fan Fiction: WoTW: The Second Invasion
I've been an avid WoTW fan for a long time, and I just realised that...The story leaves it open for a sequel, or many sequels. I've gone ahead and started to write a "Unknown Target" type fan fiction about WoTW.

Here's what I've got started so far.

(Note: the Prologue is the Epilogue from Jeff Wayne's version of WoTW.)

The Second Invasion[/U]

By: Wes Prewer a.k.a. Corhellion

Prologue[/U]: Aftermath of the First Invasion:

Journalist: “…The torment was ended. The people scattered over the country, desperate, leaderless, starved, the thousands who had fled by sea including the one most dear to me; all would return, the pulse of life growing stronger and stronger would beat again.
As life returns to normal, the question of another attack from Mars causes universal concern. Is our planet safe, or is this time of peace merely a reprieve? It may be that across the immensity of space, they have learned their lessons, and even now await their opportunity. Perhaps the future belongs not to us, but to the Martians…”

It begins…[/U][/SIZE]

Fade from black.

We are in an office, pictures of old newspaper clippings hang on the wall. A desk with a tired looking man dominates the middle of the office. Paper litters the desk, and a computer with numerous toy “tripods” sits on the side of the desk. The man is talking to someone on the phone…

Man: “I don’t know what you’re talking about. We couldn’t have just lost the 3 Mars capsules.”

Insists the man talking on the phone. The person on the other line says something very fast and in a very urgent voice, we can’t hear what the person says. But we can tell from the man reaction that it isn’t good.

Man: “What…what do you mean…”flares”…” the man on the other line speaks some more ”…uh huh…uh huh…green flares…” the man stops talking abruptly ”…GREEN FLARES?!”

The man shouts into the receiver. He then hangs up immediately and starts dialing a phone number hastily.

Man: “Come on…pick up the phone damn it!” he curses at the phone, finally someone picks up. “James…” the man breathes in deeply, and continues. “…They’re coming…again…”

Fade to Black.

More will come as I write it.
