The KresCo concept for the next-generation Apollo was never put into service, as RNI's Myrmidon and Herc II designs offered outstanding performance for a new era. The Apollo's design was seen as a relic, better left to the museums than on the battlefield, and KresCo shelved the plans for decades. In 2400, searching for new fighter designs, the SOC discovered the Apollo II prototype, modified it, upgraded several systems and pushed it into production as the SOF Orpheus.

So this fighter actually never went into service. Use it for whatever you like, though. Enjoy!!

I'll upload it to the archives a bit later, though I'll have to change the table a bit, as the one you provided uses normal FS2 weapons which aren't avaliable in Inferno.

I dunno - the textures look a little tooclose to the Apollo - makes it look sort of less like an advanced ship, more like some new modellers atempt to copy the Apollo.

For a mark 2, you want similarities yes, but also definite advancement, ala the Herc and Herc 2, or Dark's Apollo 2.

Hmm. Some good stuff and some not so good stuff. First of, I think the pof itself looks a bit too much like the original. Secondly, the textures also look too much like the Apollo, and they're kinda low-res eh?


But the main hull bit, the central part with the engines etc, looks good. Its seimple but it certainly distinguishes itself from the Mark 1. Its got real potential. Keep working at it man, itss about time we got an Apollo Mk2

The model looks more like a fisher price toy than anything. No hard corners, and all fat peices around. It should be starved for a while, and then tried again.

Hey, I didn't make the model, or map it. It's just a reskin. I agree with all of your criticisms, but it's in Woo's hands, as he said he wouldn't make a non-DH version of the Orpheus.

And somebody had to do it. There's no other Apollo II for release.

As for the new apollo, I prefer the Blue DH varient made by (Greywolf or Blackwolf? can't remember which) from the Sword Hammer Sun Campaign I think... Awesome reskin.
