Having just installed latest 43.00 NVidia Geforce drivers, now have garbled text on all briefings etc. Any ideas how to prevent this ?

Is it a GeForce 4?

Yes, it's a Creative Ti4400.

Well, I'm no expert on the matter, but lurking about here somewhere is a GeForce 4 fix that got rid of garbled text problems if I remember right.

RandomTiger fixed it. Download the latest version of the sourcecode, and that'll fix it. (I think you need the command line option -geforce4fix or something)

Greetings.

I am in the same situation and am hoping to fix this but being new to this forum I am not sure what to do with teh source code when I download it. Any pointers greatly appreciated.

Don't DL the source, Dl the modified Exe's and install them (copy them) to you're FS2 directory. Play them as usual.

While I agree that FS2_open is wonderful and definately worth getting, there is a much easier solution to the problem of garbled text.

Perhaps, but Phreak's build is the **** anyway - no clipping!

I use OGL because Phreaks launcher says DX is not implemented. Either 5 or 8

You sure you've set it to use FS Open? Mine was set to launch FS2 by default [

This is better. Why should you lose antialiasing in everything else just for one problem game?
