Glad to see this is going ahead :)

NB - you may want to add a dedicated LODder to that list - AFAIK, all LLs models are single LOD, no debris.

ST geeks can be found at the Bravofleet forums
http://www.bravofleet.info/bfforums/index.php

Lots of 'em there. Check out the Treknology area for detailed information on ships, phasers, torpedoes and what-not. Bravofleet also has special, non-canon ships that you might be able to use as well :)

Proper Admins please notice...Now is the time for the Hosted Forum (I'm taking the offer I think extended by Sandwich) in behalf of Krackers and myself...

That way you can have a current hiring thread in it at teh top as well as a thread for latest screens, project status updates, general comments one for St as well as ST v anything)

That is if Krackers agrees? I changed my mind, I have put considerable work into BTFF (Beyond teh Final Frontier) but it will remain a self WIP for a long term thing and I expect to replace much of what I have eventually. But for now there is too much invested (months of seaarching for models/ mass conversions from Homeworld/KA/and others)... Plus I raninto a snag.

I currentlt almost finished resizing the fed ships for FS2 scale to fighters, but hit a few bumps.

Here's a pic of the cruisers (just over 800meters) and look the scetion 31 Monitor (I plan on making a whole section 31 black ops fleet eventually caus I have some of the maps needed, and they look damn cool!)...

http://photo.starblvd.net/Star_Dragon/3-2-1-1062440973?m=0&pg=2&ro=1&co=0

The main problem was that ludi'smodels were mostly around 300meters, they looked tiny next to any fighter and since you know how big a deck should be by the windows on the hull it's a little silly. Even though ST is mostly 80-90% cap ships they should at least be scaled big enough to get that feeling of massive size. Also I tried to size them based on era and construction (all similars hulls same). As you can see all ships with reliant hull saucer are damn close (about 1200-1400 meters)

Lastl my version of generations starting with Nx01 (1200meters), Ent -A (1500 meters), Ent-D (around 1800 meters), and Ent-F (2000+)... Considering Ent-A holds 400 persons, Ent-D holds 1000, and Ent-F rumored to hold 4000 I think technology changes in material and techniques can pack people in better than just sheer size...

I hope you enjoyed! This took a couple of weeks...

Last I looked, those stats are way off... the Ent-E should only be around 800 meters, and the Ent-A as small as 400.  The recent FOV-altering code enhancements in the SCP may help you out if you want them looking better...

As for the Enterprise-F, it isn't canon by any means.  There was a contest to design one a while back, but I don't think anything ever came out of it.  Viacom's latest attempt to kill the Enterprise-E didn't quite succeed, so there will be some time before another one gets built.

Ah yes non-cannon... I first heard of the Enterprise - F mainly by it's class (USS Soulwolf)... A future concept starship.

The Soulwolf class is a proposed design for the Federation beyond STTNG.  However it is a functional warship in the mirror universe in the fanfiction by Happy Target "Unity" & "Reap the Whirlwind". In these stories the Terran Empire fights off the Borg and then about a decade later a coalition of Delta Quadrant forces uniting the Alpha Quadrant slave races.

The Soulwolf class is a featured ship but section 31 (man these guys are EVERYWHERE huh? ) Have a more powerful ship called the Wraith Class (which looks even more like a predator than the soulwolf!). No pic of Wraith yet...

I read the fics a long time ago but when I got one of Ludie's packs (From FS2 Sector) and saw the folder USS Soulwolf, I nearly crapped myself! ;)   Yep there it was in all it's glory just as I imagined it from the fics, the Enterprise-F (Non-Cannon of course)...

So there you have it... The fics were at a star trek sight that recently died a few months ago but some are mirrored at SpaceBAttles.com (try a search)... They are very interesting and those who like the mirror universe will find the evil corrupt terran empire MUCH to their liking. I especially like how the Anti-Hero?, tries to work within the system and still stay on top (Yes assasination is still an honored tradition)... L8tr!

BTW:   Though the sizes are off remember I am trying to make a transition to FS2 scale so cannon sizes are NOT gonna cut it! Besides I still need to do this anyway for later on the all-mod so they can interact with cap ships of comparable size and fighters too!

Last note:  I manages to convert a few models from yesteryear. The galileo shuttle, a couple of varients, and an TOS type 9 shuttle (Imagine the round pylons) hehe really retro stuff. I have a old federation battle bucket but it's almost 5000 pollies! BUT it has a moble space dock to repair other ships and a double hull! Definately a one of a kind ship in game due to system strain..  Also the original 1701 enterprise with funky pionted copper colored deflector dish and round warp nacells he hehe but also 4000 pollies (It has lods!!!)

(I also managed to get all the babylon stations all under 6000 pollies) I think I got babylon 6 proposal but it's way out there (20K I think)...
