Tweaking the shinemaps
Lots of people have been complaining about the shinemaps being too bright...so here's a thread for figuring out how to fix them. Here's one set of settings (Icefire's):

-spec_exp 11 -spec_point 0.3 -spec_static 0.5 -spec_tube 0.05


They don't work on my computer, so I can't verify they make things look any better; but IMHO it shouldn't be necessary to enter any command-line settings to make them look right for so many people.

do you mean spec/shine maps?
light maps are an entierly diferent thing (more like glow maps)
