i need to have this letter error free, because i need to study the exact phrasing. so if someone can either give me the spell checking files for MS-Office 2000, or check this document himself, i would be very happy:

Just gave it a quick go. Got rid of the spelling errors but the language could be more... eloquent (not sure if that's the right word). It's not perfect but I hope it pleases your teacher, Somebody should check if I missed something.

i've still got a few questions:
1) are you sure about the umlaudt in nähe? the dictionary gives me it without, but i'm not sure.
2) why single Auskunft?
3) why Übernachting, it sounds like just one night.
4) why not Och?

1) You could write: ein Dorfe nahe (adjective, not very common) OR ein Dorf in der Nähe (noun) von ***.
2) Well you just don't use plural here
3) What exactly do you want to ask, tell me and i'll translate.
4) There's no such word.

and i meant to ask how much it'll cost to stay there, and get breakfast, for the entire time mentioned above.

I suggest you write: Was würde der Aufenthalt über den genannten Zeitraum mit Halbpension/ Vollpension kosten?

That way you ask what it would cost including breakfast/ breakfast, dinner, supper.
