Clicking on briefing icons doesn't pop up the ship model. I'm using a random HTL build with the 32bit and HTL command line options. I'll Bugzilla this while I remember.

While I'm here, could something be done with the briefing icons? Make them a bit more fancy or something?

I think making it so that you can choose a different icon for each class of ship would be best.
TBP for instance really suffers from not being able to do this.

who knows? i might be doing some :)

---

anyway... i get similar bugs with recent builds
mouse clicks are only recognized every 3rd time or so. try clicking on that icon again, and again, and again and eventually itll pop up. Really sucky when you loadout your ship, because it wont drag and drop ships / weapons every time.

Being able to mirror ship icons horizontally would be a help, since with the recent proliferation of big-guns-forward ships around here most battles will be decided by head-on confrontations, and the briefing needs to reflect that I think.  Otherwise, having an icon for each ship class would be nice but is hardly necessary, and would be moot if custom classes could be defined (perhaps in species.tbl, like a subclass section that still follows all rules of AI and such of an existing class for simplicity but calls up a seperate briefing icon by default).  Or for that matter, a set number of "custom" briefing icons at the end of the class list, since we can change them however we see fit.

As opposed to icons, what about a wireframe briefing option like in WC:P?

You place a ship wireframe as if it was a briefing icon.
