You don't think it's decent criticism? Whatever the terms, tone, or feel in that thread were the overwhelming majority of people have sent the same message.

We don't like the shape, and we don't like the size. Even if it had been a straight column, there would have been complaints because it's simply too big for the ship. It looks ridiculous, something which the shape does not help. The sensible, reasonablle option would be to change the shape - The Chiron in your modeldump for example has a strut type thing - it's not a dick, it's not a fin, and yet it looks awesome. Something more like that, in both size and shape, would look better. It's as simple as that.

And a damn fine ship it is. Which reminds me, I'm doing some renders with the ships from your modeldump, Venom, and I'd really love it if I could use some of the story you wrote for OTT to put the renders into. Renders need story.

How can that not be mistaken for a dong? I mean, no offense, but you have this lovely detailed, nice ship.. and then it looks like you stuck a super-large penis twice the size of the ship on the bottom. It might not be so noticeably phallic if it were 1/4 the size..

But whatever. If you don't like the (mature) critiscm against the dick, then that's fine. No use arguing over it.

The Aoh would be nice with better textures. You just can't make good Vasudan textures. Not very many people can.

Just to get something straight: from my opinion, it wasn't that it resembled a penis that was funny, it was that it was so blatently made in the image of a penis, it was distracting. I can see what you meant about wanting to make it vertical, but look at the Hercules models.. or.. whatever ships have been made vertically. They'd be pretty funny lucky if instead of wings n' fins, they had long, cylindrical shafts with mushroom heads on the ends, now wouldn't they?

Exactly. It should look like an integral. useful part of the ship instead of a sexual-looking design flourish. The Njord would be lovely if he ditched the Gatling guns for something less silly and made the bottom look less like a giant schlong.

you can't control what people are going to say, period.

   Once you posted the pic you opened youself up to the world and all the opinions that entails so like me you have to kinda grow a thick skin and just take it all in. Or, rather only take in what you can appreciate and let teh rest just roll off like water off a duck's back

   Personally I didin't see that , er, look until it waspointed out. I personally don't like the design as a terran ship, BUT it is YOUR vision of what it should be so that is the end of it PERIOD! At least I have an open-mind and can honestly say I don't think it's blashphomey or wrong to make unusual or unracial type designs if that is how a creator sees it.

   FS2 can mean different things to people even if it is non-cannon.  the point is even if you don't like something you should have the frame of mind and attitude to be mature about it in teh way you respond.

  Regardless of how I feel about this fighter, I totally respect your skill as a modler and hope to see more of your works in the future.

It's only sexual if you make it sexual. When I first saw it, I amounted it more to a heavy ball on a stick, like a club, almost, rather than a "sexual-looking design flourish".  If it was to look like a penis, as you say, it would need a bit more detail...

I haven't made a comment on this yet, but I've got a few minutes now so I will.

My personal opinion? That...er "appendage" on the bottom makes the ship look UGLY. I don't care what it may look like. To be honest my original thoughts on it were. "What the hell is that thing doing on the ship. o_O ...and the fact that it looks like 'that' doesn't help. XP" And although that is a minor factor, even if it didn't look like 'that', it'd still look ugly to me.

That part just looks like a huge, useless something or other. It's practically the same size of the dang fighter. If you insist on keeping it though, I'd suggest to reduce the size, give it different details, and give it some kind of purpose. Just looks really out of place and doesn't serve any kind of purpose. Also it'd make the fighter a huge flying target.

Though that's just my opinion, and it's your fighter. I just wanted to give some non-"OMG ITZ A PENIS" critisism.

What the is everyone's problem? No need to kill it because it's phallic (remember the corinthian helms?); no need to get mad because people think it's phallic (it is!).

Honestly, who cares? If you had to change something, change the beard in the front--it doesn't match the curves of the rest of the ship.
