Freelancer has it. Can it be done for Freespace? :confused:

-mod command line, launcher.  People customize too much stuff in Freespace, and Freelancer makes it necessary because of the million-and-two configuration files it uses instead of the one ships.tbl file freespace has.  If someone wants to do it, go for it, but I don't think the need is the same.

RT's latest launcher does an  even better job. All you have to do is pick a folder and FS2 will use any folder called Data inside that as the data folder.

My only gripe is that FRED doesn't do the same.

and fred crashes if you tick "use these command lines for the exe too" in the new launcher ;)
