RETURN OF THE KING - Toughts (& spoilers)
Well..I just got back from watching it...All I can say is..
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWW!!

The best of all three movies, a brilliant end to the epic tale.
Alltough there ar a few things that bug me, they aare nothing serious and I can go over them. But I'm gonna list them here anyway:

1. Narsil/Anduril - In the book it said that it glowed like the sun and the moon (sometimes reddih/yeelow, other times bluish), while on some other parts in the book, it said it was engulfed in white flames...
It is supposed to be the uber-sword, yet that doesn't quite show..the Sting however, sparkles like a Christmas tree

2. When Sauron saw Frodo on Mt. Doom, he paniced, his existance was in danger. As soon as he paniced, all of his rmy paniced too, they lost their heart for battle, the Nazghul speeded away trying to stop Frodo. This was a clear sign of a turning point in the battle.
Yet in the movie, Saurons army seemes unafected by the panicking screams of the Nazghul and keep on fighting with the same vigor.

3. When Sauron is destroyed a black cloud, shaped like Sauron forms itslef and then gets blown away by the wind. It would have made an even more impressive ending.

4.  The walls and towers of Minas Tirith are too easily destroyed. One stone brings down a whole tower...I mean, if castles were really that weak, noone would bother to build them. And in the book, they never got past the second level.

5. Legolas killing that giant elephant (can't remember it's name)..I can swallow that, but its...wel...hm....

6. No Saruman

7. No Farmir & Eowin romance

8. No explenation of what happened to the rest of the Fellowship.

9. They never truly revealed who Gandalf really was.

I could probably think of more, but It's nothing serious, and I'm a bit tired. It's 03.55 here...a very late show...;7

I never read the book so I dont' really know about some of the stuff.  My only complaint is what happened to Saruman?  Otherwise, it was an awesome movie, one of the best of all time.

Well, they skipped the whole ending of the last book in the shire, which Jackson addressed before the release of the movie.

My only real complaint about the actual movie was the 7(yes I counted) end scenes... Made me so mad... Probably could have just used 1 and added the whole Shire section :p

The number of end scenes were there to tie up all the loose ends. Otherwise it would seem as though Frodo was leaving Middle-Earth on a boat trip. They needed to show that Frodo never recovered from losing the ring and that in the end his only choice was to leave.

Apart from the scouring everything else will no doubt be added in the extended edition.

That bit never made much sense to me anyway. Why would the orcs and trolls stop fighting as hard just cause Sauron's eye turned away from them? The panic should set in when Sauron is defeated not the second Frodo puts on the ring in Mount Doom.

And then Dungeon Master would have appeared and told the children that he'd found another way home. :D  I'm sorry but there would have been far too many people who thought of Venger if they had done that.

The ending was quite good. I agree.

The clensing of shire would be dull compared to the rest of the movie. To end a movie like that would be ...baaaaaaaad... If some of the bigest LORT fanatics I know say so too, that you know it should be kicked out.
---
It was more that his eye/gaze. It was Saurons will that drove the armies. When even the Nazghul panic, that should really be something for a common orc/troll to worry about. And it said so in the book.
----
Who the f*** is Venger? And it's so in the book, and would be cool...really cool...

Venger was a character from the D&D cartoon. Every time he got defeated he seemed to do that whole smoke takes his form thing.

Calm down.

Kara, I think most people wouldn't get the D&D reference. I loved that cartoon.

I'm saying that if you did the whole smoke turning into the shape of Sauron everyone who had seen the cartoon would think of the connection. Probably not something you'd want to happen at that point in the movie.
