Gaming Content Management System - Eweb
Hi All,

I'm here to announce the latest release in a long line of Content Management Systems. E-Spyder Web Gaming CMS or Eweb CMS for short has been released as a free download to any gamer who needs a website and has a PHP 4.1.0 and 1 MySQL Database available to them.

Details
There is a 3 step installation process which is done all via form fields for your ease of use. Basic FTP knowledge is required along with CHMOD knowledge and how to create a MySQL database. Upon completion your site is installed and ready to use and is completely dynamic.
Basically the site being dynamic means you can make changes on the fly, through an administration area online. When you make changes the site is immediately updated with the new changes you added or edited. Stylesheet is entirely editable in the administration area giving complete control over the look and feel of your site.
You may also turn options on or off at whim, for example you may want to have one poll a week for only 2 days. With Eweb you can add a poll, and set it to viewable and then edit the poll to not-viewable at anytime and the poll will not be available to the public.

Other features include:
- Member Registration and Bio Pages
- Ladders/Leagues Area for users of appropriate level
- News administration
- Site history administration
- Bios administration allowing you to give users more or less access!
- Advertising Rotation
- Downloads administration with download counter!
- Eweb HTML Page Builder to easily build pages for your site with your sites template already inserted for a nice uniformed page look making it easy to add to your sites public page area.
- Header, Footer, Left and Right Menu Editors (right and left menus can be turned completely off as well as certain menu options)
- Server info Run with GSQuery modified to be used with Ewebs administration area. Add a server by entering its IP and port and game type, and you have live server info right on your page!
- Edit the site's intro page, using a page editor-type editor! you can use flash intros, DHTML, java and more!

Consistent Development
Also this is a project that is being developed consistently, meaning we are adding new modules, developing bug fixes and also creating future templates for your use as time permits. Our development history is very good, we have developed Eweb now for 5 months and have a full version already released that is working in every which way and tested by many clans and is ready for a full public release!

Ladder System
Ever want to run your own ladder site? Now you can, Eweb's backend and frontend design allows for any registered user to have access to the ladder area, and also be removed. Administration options are included with the ladder for site administrators or ladder founders, as well we have a full Team CP in place to challenge or accept challenges and communicate with teams. Everything is automated, and updates are sent to both teams via email. With this system running a ladder is as easy as filling a few forms and clicking a few buttons.

Easy to Use GUI
Our GUI (Graphical User Interface) is tuned to the needs of the laman. We use icons and not text and we do our best to describe things clearly so there is no room for confusion. Page Builders GUI is designed to look similar to all HTML editors that exists such as Frontpage, or Dreamweaver. Although its not as advanced as an HTML editor on your computer, online the tool is very useful. All basic tags are included in page builder plus a few CSS classes meant for your site. Descriptions and a Help file is contained within page builders pages for more information.

We are continuously developing this product for free for gamers by gamers. We have a good amount of support now and we hope to grow to become the best CMS for gamers thats completely free of charge and free of spam and adware and other junk, and bring tools the gamers need with reliability and speed like no other. We hope you consider using Eweb gaming CMS for your next gaming site and we hope it is as useful to you as it has been to many other clans who have so far used this system in its beta stages.

Special thanks to many people including United Gamers Coalition for giving me the idea to make something for gamers that was actually useful as a CMS, and id like to thank UGC-Cavman for helping m develope this thing both in a programming aspect and also in a beta testing aspect. Thanks to all who beta tested as well.

Support for this product can be found at the above URL, there is a link to the forums as well as an email address to contact us directly for any bug related issues or possible ideas for addons or changes. Dont be shy to send your constructive critism either, but keep it polite!

Is this actually MySQL specific? If so, why? Why not use any of the ODB interfaces  provided with PHP to allow operability with other DBMSs, like Postgres?
[I am not really here. This post is entirely a figment of your imagination.]

Time has only allowed for a MySQL specific Beta test. We will make this available hopefully in all versions of DB's and a possible ASP release when time and resources allow.
