My intention is to start modelling Homeworld ships. The modelling aspect is something I know I can do! Looking at the original Homeworld models, they are not exactly 'detailed' and could be made to look pretty damn good with the SCP ability to handle detail.
The mission side of it would be the hard bit for me. I know what you mean about the amount of work modding involves ( I have worked on mods before elsewhere) and the spiritual dead-end of the 'unfinished mod that you can't be bothered to work on anymore'

My plans are fairly simple....
1) Start building the player flyable ships. This is a fairly low number for basic Homeworld. Scout, fighter, bomber for Taiidan and Kushan sides. Then I can add some corvettes. I don't know of fighters can have turrets .... but I didn't really envisage flyable corvettes! A repair corvette for the supply ship.
Then, capital ships can be started. Finally....of course.... the Mothership would have to be done.
If the basic numbers of ships are to small for 'fun' then some of the Cataclysm vessels could be drafted in to make up numbers.
Ideally, I would want the campaign to take the form of 'one mans view of Homeworld' from a fighter pilots view.
I reckon that by starting off JUST building some of the vessels, I should be able to work my way forward.
p.s. I don't intend to use ANY of relicvs models or textures, but will do my own, based on the ships.
p.p.s. I have been invovled with a couple of other mod projects, but don't really get that much enjoyment making ships for other people to 'their' designs! It's hard enough to find the time to work on a project as it is, let alone making things you don't enjoy!!!
Oh well

.... better find some free webspace and knock up the obligatory 'half-assed to hold screenshots'' website for the new project

BECAUSE I AM GOING TO DO THIS
