I got a minor issue when building turreted ship, and that is about putting turrets on the bottom of the ships;
Usually i start making the top turrets first, and all works ok, then i copy the turret, put it on bottom of the ship and rotate it 180,0,0 degrees to make it upside down. I set the firing normal at Y -1
Problem is, that way the turret point correctly at the target, but never fires a single shot... so i tryed setting the normal again to Y 1, and the turret fire correctly, but points the opposite direction in which is firing!!
So i rotate the turret 180,0,180 so it is upside down, and also pointing backward by default, set again normal at Y -1, and the turret fire and aim correctly!
Now, that is not a real problem, cause the turrets works fine that way, it's just odd that by default the turrets are pointed at the back of the ship, while the stock ships have bottom turrets pointing by default foward.

Have someone else experienced this problem? There is a way around it?

edit: wrong forum, i should have put this in the modding one...

Sounds like a problem with the axis and the rotation in truespace.
I have encountered this often at the beginning. However, as you
describe it, it is O.K.

I make it the same way, build, rotate at 180 degree at Y (and only there, do not redoo the axis of the submodel) and use the -1 in
modelview-turret sections. Check your cob-file again for this

9 out of 10 voices in my head always tell me that I'm not insane. The 10th is only humming the melody of TETRIS.

Yes, that's what i did some time ago on one ship, and it worked right, then all the other ships i made later had this problem, i guess I'm doing something different, but i really can't see what is it.... -_-
