Snow Walker (movie)
Senor Rictor gives it:      (out of five)

In brief, its a Canadian (oh, I can hear the groans now) movie, that is actually very good. Its stars Barry Pepper (25th Hour, Battlefield Earth) and Annabella Piugattuk, who, from what I know, has never acted before.

The basic plot is: Charlie (Barry Pepper) is a pilot for a small company doing business in Northern Canada. He flies out on a mission and takes Kaanalaq (Piugattuk) onboard. She's sick and needs to get to a hospital. Their plane crashes, and together they are forced to survive in the Canadian tundra, a very forbidding place.

The cinematography is amazing, the scenery is beautiful and the acting is, in my humble opinion, also very good. Its real and down to Earth, but also emotionally deep.

I would say that this the same type of movie as Whale Rider, for those of you who have seen it. If you want explosions and boobies, go elsewhere. If you want a good, beautiful movie without the pungent stench of Hollywood, see this.

Without wanting to sound, well, gay, the whole experience gets you right here *points to heart*

The old skool approach to the filming material realy bugged me out. I didn't like that. The movie overall was... good. Kinda. Wasn't a movie I'll remember in a year or so.

I don't know what you mean by old school. I didn't notice anything wierd about the filming.

I guess I had my Artiste hat on when I watching it, I usually don't like artsy movies but I make an exception for films about nature because thats not pretencious, which is my complaint against most independept arty movies.
