Beam me up Scotty... :(

(On a side note, he's 84 and has a 47 year old wife. He's a playa! :p)

But I don't think that the Alzheimer will be a big rpoblem in the few years he has. I certainly hope not because he was a damned fine actor! One of my all time favorites :(

do not torment the sleep deprived artist, he may be vicious when cornered,
in case of emergency, administer caffeine to the artist,
he will become docile after that,

I feel sorry for the poor bloke, but they could have worded that report a bit better :(

.....who is famous for playing Scotty in the sci-fi program and was often on the receiving end of Captain Kirk's phrase, "Beam me up, Scotty" - has been discovered to be suffering from the most common form of dementia.

Working with William Shatner?

Seriously though, I really hope stem cell reserach goes ahead and can bring some normality into these peoples lives.

I seem to remember reading that Kirk never actually said "Beam me up, Scotty"  in the series anyway :D It was always "one to beam up" or some such.

Although he may have said it one of the films once the phrase became popular

There have been many variation.

Scotty, beam me up.
Beam me up, Scotty.
One to beam up.
One to beam up, Scotty.
etc etc

'Beam me up, Scotty' was the one that stuck :)

I'd heard it's like "Play it again, Sam" in Casablanca. It was never actually said. :) I'm sure there's someone nerdy enough to tell me which episode they actually say "Beam me up, Scotty" in then. If not here certainly on SpaceBattles :D

(In case you're wondering the words are "You played it for her, you can play it for me. Play it!"

Very unfortunate, he's was one of the more honest seeming trek actors.
