'Their' should be 'they're', BTW.  And dump the second 'oh,****!', it sounds odd to have it repeated so quickly

(god, I'm picky today)

Advice: Do not scale the nebalae so much. That neb11 is scaled at at least 7-7. To make more pretty(or prettier, I don't know the correct form) backgrounds, use the scalings between 1 an 4.

They'd be fine if the banding wasn't so apparent.  Is this a stock campaign, by the way?
who needs a signature? ;)
It's not much of an excuse for a website, but my stuff can be found here

I don't understand that either, so do not worry you do not know something that you think is obvious. :D

FS2 retail, uses only "stock" (default) ships, weapons, etc, and doesn't  use any SCP-specific features is what I mean by stock campaign.  If so, you might want to use some of the better nebula effects.  If not, well, what you've got is fine for atmosphere.  People love to complain about the background in still shots, but when you are playing it's rarely something that you notice.  Unless you're lightspeed, apparently ;)

Ahhh, I see what you mean now.

Well its not all 'Stock' ships. I mean the bulk of the campaign uses most of the FS2 ships but I've also got permission to use some player created ships.

When it comes to the SCP, I do use it to play but when it comes to creating new levels I like to stick with the normal FS2 FRED. It runs better on my Uni comp than the SCP FRED. :(

A heavily scaled nebula image is not only disgusting at stills ... :ick:
I always notice dirty background ... the very first thing I noticed in Derelict was the EXTREMELY neglected background. Later, it turned out the whole campaign was neglected. :p But that's no topic right now. :)

The SCP FRED is called FRED_Open, unless I have been duped by my peers.

Actually, the SCP FRED is a synonym for FRED_Open.

What is it with the Brits and spelling, anyway? I mean, y'all lay claim to originating the bloomin' language, so why can't you spell properly? No wonder the 'Mericans are policing the world...

:p All in good cheer, of course. :)

Gai (err, how does one pronounce that, anyway?), your persistence is very commendable. Don't get discouraged, eh?

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Hi, thanks for your support :D

And the word "Gai" is pronounced the same as "Guy" :)

In defence of natives: You find it far more difficult to spell a word you had known how to pronounce and used them before. English spelling is in my opinion easy because when I learn a new English word, I learn both the spelling and pronunciation at the same time. Natives, in contrast know how to pronounce this and that word, but they are left on their own when they have to spell it. Some cases are quite misleading, let's take 'Door' or 'Look' as examples. I am curious who can figure out the spelling of the word 'mayor' on their own.

Returning to the actual topic, the project: Spelling mistakes are not disturbing when they are in an in-mission message until simulated speech pronounces it as it is supposed to. 'Your being chased' and 'You are being chased' are pronounced the same way, which hides the spelling mistake when you are not reading the message, only listening to simulated speech.

Huh. Very good point. I quite concur, although in my case, my bookwormishness prevented the lack of spelling knowledge. ;)
