Author Topic: Hosting FS2SCP Files  (Read 1186 times)

Yeah.  I got an FTP server set up on my machine, and can upload at about 100KB/s.  Since I rarely use it and my computer's never off, I figured that I could host some files for people to download.  My questions:

1.  First off, is there anything that I am NOT allowed to put up for download?
And would someone really come after me if I hosted them, like the movies?

2.  Secondly, what and where, are the files that you need to run FS2:SCP and have it pretty?  (Basically, "What's the latest version of EVERYTHING?)

3.  Third, would I be allowed to repack everything and put it in one, simple large archive?

I figure that that this can be used for anyone else who wants to host the files as well.

For great justice.

1) I believe everything we released is freely redistributable. As for whether someone would come after you, that's a question better left for your lawyer, your ISP, or both. If you post (C) material, you run the risk of getting in trouble.

2) The latest "official" everything is 3.6, but there are some stable builds, hopefully we'll have another rev very soon. You might also consider the "vanilla" FS2 in the sticky thread.

3) No problem at all. We had an installer with everything, but the install guy had real life issues I think, no seen an update from him in a while.
