*downloads anyway*
Wash: This landing's gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: *shrug* "Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die"?
Mal: This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

wasn't this originally Starmaggedon 2?

Then they changed it to Project Freedom and now I guess they tacked on the Space Interceptor part..

I guess they figure putting "Space Interceptor" in front will let people know that it's a space sim and not like a FPS or an RPG...

orignally it was called project earth, it was like homeworld but it sucked big time. it had some ideas though, insteed of finding ur oppent on a bigg 3d battlefield ur oppoent was right infront u so the battles were instensive, but the company kinda abodan that **** because it was a **** ... i think the company was called lemon interactive and changed it because it because they released poor games... but now they are realsing quite arcadish games that are fun to play...

Looks awesome, certainly as good as the SCP, though not as good as Doom 3(Which I can't play since I don't have a Windows 2000 or higher os  )

*UPDATE*
just tried it.  The level is pathetically short, but it is fast paced and once you get used to the control scheme your ship handles like a dream.  Something of note:  It ran at a perfect 25 FPS at all times unless I was within about 200 meters of an explosion.  As previously stated, it looks beautiful.

Now for the bad.  It's FAST.  There is no radar, also the HUD is...confusing and you can't lock a target, you just kinda point in their general direction and when they light up you fire you're apparently unlimited supply of swarm missiles to flame them and move on to the next one as fast as possible.

So as through a glass, and darkly
The age long strife I see
Where I fought in many guises,
Many names, but always me.

There are only 10 types of people in the world , those that understand binary and those that don't.

  • It will not wait.
    • Rate of Injury
Fun, but I dislike the over-simplified interface and the Freelancerish mouse control. A little too arcadey if you ask me. And I wish they wouldn't applaud you every single time you get a kill.

yep thats annoying ... i just hope the storyline in the full game will be better and with some twist .. it will probably save this game.

You kno0w, if they had called it just 'Interceptor', that would've sounded cool. But Space Interceptor...cheesy.
Give a man fire and he'll be warm for a day, but set fire to him and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.
