I just got my brand new Logitech Attack 3 joystick for Christmas, bought specifically for playing 3 games, Freespace 2 being one of them.  Imagine my horror when i find out that the joystick won't bind ingame.

I run the Freespace 2 5.2 launcher and check the Audio/Joystick tab, there i can select "Logitech Attack 3 USB" fine, the problem begins when i head ingame and onto the controls menu.  For some reason Freespace 2 isn't detecting anything i press or do with the joystick.  Pitching up and down is automatically bound, yet when i load a mission and use the stick nothing happens.
I've checked Windows Calibration and the joystick works fine there, as do all 11 buttons.  I even went onto the internet and downloaded the latest driver i could find (lgs440enu as lgs425enu wasn't approved for use with Windows XP)

Any ideas on what's causing this and how I can fix it?

UPDATE - I just tried binding the joystick in both FS1 and FS2 Retail and the joystick binds fine in both games, just not FS2 Open.

Open the launcher, go to Audio/Joystick tab and select Force 0 as your joystick. If that does not work, select Force 1.

Launcher seems to be a bit buggy when it comes to selecting controllers, especially if you have or have had multiple controllers installed.

Just used Force 1 and it now works fine.  Thanks for your help :)
