Has anyone played it? I've never played Counter Strike, so this was my intro into it. It seems ok, but of course very unrealistic, and the grenades and flashbangs are way off (a nade can explode next to someone and not kill them, but a flashbang from 30 feet away can knock you blind).
All in all, though, it's really fun. Where's everyone play? I can only be found on the "Naked Female Hostages -CoV-" clan server

They got great people there.

CS has sucked since they took the scope off the M4 in beta 6.5

You know what would be neat? A HLP clan

And anyway Stealth, pop into the CoV server. It's great, it's pretty balanced (the auto snipers are banned), and it's activeley admined. I'm usually there for a couple hours every day.

I started playing it a bit recently. Kind of hard, coming up against all these people who do nothing but play it. Haven't really got into it...

Do you actually need HL2 to play it? Or is there some standalone version where you can bypass all the Steam crap?

To be honest, the game doesn't suck, the annoying 10-year olds on all the MP servers suck and completely ruin it for me.

And i hate going through all the trouble of setting up a personal server just so I won't have to deal with annoying n00b-brats.

Halo 2's Live play has been marred by a series of trolls too. Interesting, it never seem to be such a big problem as around now.

I play Natural Selection more then CS:Source, but every now and then when I'm up for a good game or two I'll jump on and kick some ass, as usual. Not a huge fan of the series, but I think we weeded out a good fraction of the 10-year olds from CS when they converted over to Source. Most of them can't figure out their ass from a hole in the ground, so how are they going to get it to work on steam? Mommy and daddy? Sorry little Johnny, no CS:Source for you...
