what are you using?
To consider the Earth as the only populated world in infinite space is as absurd as to assert that in an entire field of millet, only one grain will grow. - Metrodorus of Chios
I wept. Mysterious forces beyond my ken had reached into my beautiful mission and energized its pilots with inhuman bomb-firing abilities. No Freespace 3 ?!? Oh, bugger...

Textures missing means that the textures are not in the same folder as the model, if they are not V files.
Modelview doesn't assume it should look in the data/maps directory, but instead loads it's maps from the folder, or if there's none, then the vp file, and if still none, then it doesn't render anything there..

you have to view all the map files, then view the model.

...err. No. You have to either be using standard Voltion textures, or have the model in the same folder as the maps in order for modelview to find them.

That said, modelview needs a major overhaul... *looks to Goober*

If you have several installs (like I do) only one install's data maps folder is configured so just ignore it. There is no error and everything is fine. Copy the model needed and drop into that maps folder (for that model) then view it. MV will auto find it then without needing to reconfig. Hope that helps.
