The basic result is that it appears that while there was no widespread abuse or misuse of the project, there has been "political" interference and indivudal misdirection of certain contracts.

Cuteness. We just gave the US all the propanda they need to ignore us from now on. :rolleyes:

The whole idea of 'Oil for Food' never really appealed to me, to be honest. But I think everyone knew it was dodgy long before now.

Now 'Food for Friendship' would have been a good idea ;)

The whole UN is dodgy, most of its employees are rich twats from third world countries who bought their degrees from the university of rangoon. That said its a far cry for the big scandal where every body the neo-cons didnt like was said to have taken bribes from saddam.

This is extremely old, and the program was more than tainted, it was a flat out scandal.

Erm, dude...  the story broke today on the result of the probe. What exactly was a scandal about it?

This is the results of the probe into the flat out scandel the US claimed there was, and its saying that never happened.

Whatever happened to the US citizens implicated?  IIRC the US government was somewhat reticent to  name names on that front.....

Good question. And its old at least for me, heard about it something like 6 months ago. And the flat out scandal is a bit of an exageration on my part. And no I didn't get this from Fox, heck I don't even get Fox news.
